A strange time indeed. The Annual Birthday Bash was a success. I’ve got an iPhone 7 now. I’ve got a 14mm, 50mm, and a 85mm prime lens. Storyboards have started for the next short film. Episodes of FRAMELINES continue to finalize as more segments get cut. Time moves forward and I’m gearing up for the next few steps. I’ll be directing Johnny DiLoretto’s Not So Late Show for the next few months. Learning to be a technical director for live events and television has been something that I love to do. And it makes me some extra money sometimes too. Doing a late night talk show for the local market? Sounds fun to me.

Learning to pilot and shoot with a quadcopter drone, multicam switching, and all the things new that I have been learning keep me alive. I never want to stop learning, growing, and trying to better myself. Always be moving forward.

My new lens collection prepares me for a lot of film situations. The 85mm Rokinon Cine is my go-to lens for close ups. It’s perfect for bokeh and that look that I love so much. The 50mm Rokinon is not one of the Cine models, meaning it does not have the teeth for the follow focus.

Dave Lee told me that he read online that you can use the silicon wristbands, so I not only ordered a batch of wristbands, I got lens themed wristbands. I tested this with my follow focus and it worked really well. $.75 silicone wristbands on my still camera lenses make them work so well with my follow focus and rails that I set them up on all my zoom lenses too.

I setup a massive greenscreen shoot on Monday. Doing FRAMELINES, Sonnyboo Podcasts, and some spec work for a local radio station.

Refilling my queue of self-made work seems to be important. I guess I would rather be creating than indulging any unnecessary drama. I have no interest in whatever is going on with other people’s nonsense. I’m going to hunker down and stay on target.

[i]”I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and must have it painted black
Maybe then I’ll fade away and not have to face the facts
It’s not easy facing up when your whole world is black
No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue
I could not foresee this thing happening to you”
