Blog : For having traffic with thyself alone

Took some much needed time away from the world this past weekend. I got lost inside of Marvelís Iron Fist on Netflix. And I made time to reorganize my storage room for all my newly acquired and old moviemaking gear. Now that my Glidecam Crane 200 has been repaired, I wanted to start to make my stuff ready to work. I got some plans.

To me, the crane is a fantastic tool for cinematic storytelling. You can get 3-5 shots in one with one of these, and if the story calls for it, some great movement to the camera without a lot of setup time. I have owned mine for almost 10 years. The last 4 or so it has been out of commission. Now itís back in working order.

Iím working over a feature length script when my friend Mike wanted to attack a re-write of something just as a writing exercise, trying to take what a director is asking for and make those changes. I handed him the very first script I ever wrote. Far too autobiographical to ever do for myself, and something that it has been well over 20 years since I even read it. It will be a pleasant surprise to read his draft, as I donít recall what I wrote hardly at all.

So much good in the hopper. My paid work is increasing. Having a blast with friends, and prepping to do more film for artís sake. I cannot explain just what this calm serenity in my life has been. Just keep on liviní yaíll. Time to get caught up on some Walking Dead, Last Week Tonight, and the Flash.

ĒStuck inside these four walls
Sent inside forever
Never seeing no one
Nice again like you
Mama you, mama you
If I ever get out of her,
Thought of giving it all away
To a registered charity.
All I need is a pint a day
If I ever get outta here
If we ever get outta of here
Well, the rain exploded with a mighty crash
As we fell into the sun
And the first one said to the second one there
I hope you're having funĒ
