The old adage about time going by faster as you get older remains quite true. I barely remember the first quarter of 2016, and quite frankly, I barely remember 2015. I am failing to get this short film off the ground although, things might proceed quickly starting next week after a meeting or two with some key people. I haven’t entirely lost my mojo, as promotions are working well. I issued press releases. Haven’t done that in several years. I didn’t feel like I had much to say that would interest anyone either. The Interactive Editing Tutorial has been doing so well, and getting decent amounts of attention. The edits are coming online from people all over the globe, from Russia to South America and all over the States (except much in Ohio, my home state).
I had a conversation about that recently. Do I need to expend any emotional energy towards the fact that very few people in the city in which I reside does not believe they can learn from the Interactive Editing Tutorial I put out? Of course not. This Tutorial has been assigned in classes at Full Sail University, and several colleges in Southern California. That is far more satisfying than appealing to peers in Columbus Ohio. I want to keep my target a lot higher than trying to be the Prom Queen of Central Ohio Filmmaking. I will continue to do what I do because I like what I do, not because of any concerns of others.
This does feel like I am getting back on the horse again after a large time off. In many ways, in promoting, in filmmaking, even in life. I want to stay positive, stay creative, and improve myself in every possible way.
Started week 4 at the gym for the year. I don’t want to let this slip. I need to stay healthy, trim some weight, and simply feel better. I got something to live for, a purpose.
“We were talking about the space between us all
And the people who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion
Never glimpse the truth, then it’s far too late, when they pass away
We were talking about the love we all could share
When we find it, to try our best to hold it there with our love
With our love, we could save the world, if they only knew”
– The Beatles (George Harrison)
