Today is a snow day. The roads are a little too rough so I cancelled all the interns and I’m gonna work from home. Gonna tackle some work projects and Framelines. Since the cold leaves me feeling somewhat immovable, it might be time for a HELLBOY double feature. Never read the comics for that title, and yet I have a hankering to watch the movies. 
Soon I’ll need to do a screening of “The Five Movies Close To Perfection“. This list includes, in no particular order:
CITIZEN KANE
BLADE RUNNER
BACK TO THE FUTURE
RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
SOME LIKE IT HOT
These are movies that I have seen more times than I can recall, and they have the perfect blend of script/story/acting/direction/camera that they represent the pinnacle of filmmaking for my personal preferences. I just want to get my mind set to make another movie and have the highest expectations and remember what moved me the most, as a child through adulthood and these five movies do just that.
Pieces on the board move pretty fast. In less than 2 months I’ll be directing a new feature film. My knights and pawns are positioned. Time to take the queen off the board.
