I cannot go without sleep like I used to. A 7:00AM call time after many nights of 2:00AM edits doesn’t reconcile as well as it did when I was in my 20’s. I writhe in pain because simply not getting enough rest can wrench my gout from its slumber. I even went for a 2 mile walk in the snow last night at the park. Revisions and re-dits for clients keep me from getting back to the fun stuff I want to do. Since the Big Break Up 2012, my expenses tripled overnight. Although, I must say, my means are far more modest than most, and living in Ohio means I have a 2 bedroom townhouse condominium all to myself (and the cats) for a ridiculously low amount of money in comparison with Los Angeles, New York, or even Orlando or Chicago. Still, I have to prioritize the paid work to make the bills paid.

I was intending to do a massive cleaning of my office today at work, but the pain in my ankle means I’m working from home. I love that I can work from home. I grabbed all relevant files on a portable hard drive and now I can take a nap in my bed, crawl out later and do my work. The boys are extremely pleased that I get distracted by them from time to time. They are rascals.

Holiday schedules are brutal, even for getting 2-3 people together for a simple shoot or ADR or voiceover. After January 2nd or 3rd, things return to normal for most people. Traveling is done, families are satiated, bellies are full. I plan on making January very productive.

Time to not only get back on the horse, but to ride this beast into ground until I’ve got nothing left to do.
