Tomorrow night we screen the 3 short films from local filmmakers and some clips from FRAMELINES at the Gateway Film Center. ColumbusUnderground.com did a story on it and interviewed me. The only thing of mine screening is the promo and tech tip for the Interactive Project. I want this to be about the other filmmakers since they are the ones getting celebrated. I prepped the show, now I’m making T-shirts and DVD’s for the giveaway raffle. The theater converts my files to the DCP (Digital Cinema Projector) films for the screening. Normally, I’d be a total stickler for spot checking the show myself. I trust the folks at the Gateway because they do so many of these local screenings and I handed them exact specification files (they wanted “flat”, meaning 1.85 to 1 aspect ratio instead of 16×9’s 1.78 to 1). When I was in high school I was a projectionist on 35mm film so this was my language.

Mickey Fisher, the first interview we ever did for FRAMELINES in 2011 just donated to our INDIEGOGO campaign. We featured Mickey before he started working with Steven Spielberg and Halle Berry, then did a follow up story after he did, which he graciously took time out of producing his TV series EXTANT to do for us. Now Mickey put a little $ in our coffers. Mickey is the greatest.

This is a great time in my life. Totally chilled out. Not too much pressure anywhere. Warm weather, but not hot. Carving out time for movies, good TV, and even better food. The grill has been used every single day for a month now. Hitting the gym all regular. On the off days, still trying to get out and walk at the park too.

Peace and love and good happiness stuff.

“Springtime was always my favorite time of year,
A time for lovers holding hands in the rain
Now springtime only reminds me of Tracy’s tears
Always cry for love, never cry for pain
He used to say so strong unafraid to die
Unafraid of the death that left me hypnotized
No, staring at his picture I realized
No one could cry the way my Tracy cried
Sometimes it snows in April”
