The Big Screen is mounted, in concrete behind the wall no less. Surround sound hooked up. And no time to enjoy it thoroughly yet. Working 2 jobs, 1 of which has a over-full time schedule, and still have a dozen or so boxes to unpack – mostly DVD’s and Blu Rays, as well as books (on filmmaking). It’s like having a movie almost finished, but you don’t have time to make the last edits. What little ‘free time’ there was went to judging for another film festival. Watching short films and features never sucks, but it’s not the same as relaxing and getting lost in another world. I believe in voluntary suspension of disbelief when watching movies. That’s tough to do when it’s a job; you have to judge and rate the movies, making critical analysis the priority, not an afterthought.

Loving the house right now. I’m eating so well, grilling most nights. Having people over randomly all the time, enjoying conversations into the wee hours. I’m reaching out to friends I haven’t been in touch with in a while, riding a new (to me) bike around the new neighborhood, and generally just loving life right now. I remember Sting said on a VH1 concert that he had always heard that life started at 40 and he couldn’t believe it was true. For me, it’s startin’ at 42, although I cannot do tantric sex like Mr. Gordon Sumner.

Hopefully in a week or so, I can get back to some of my own work and shortly after that, get into some more shooting for FRAMELINES and the Movie Clichés. Then I might get to enjoy some more unadulterated joy beyond what every day seems to be now.

Cause my body too bootylicious for ya”
