So I hit a major milestone with my main YouTube account; one million combined views. Back in 2006, I already had all of my short films made by then on a myriad of video websites, including iFilm.com, Atomfilms.com, Triggerstreet.com, Reelmind.com, movieflix.com, undergroundfilms.com, and a slew of others – not a single one of which exists today as a platform for distribution like Youtube, owned by Google (which sadly had Google Video that I was entirely invested in with videos). So when Youtube started up, I had fatigued on keeping up with uploading my 30+ short films to every single site and thought this one wouldn’t be any different. Boy was I wrong. With Youtube, I did start uploading a year or so afte they started, but not with any emphasis. I didn’t like their video quality. Once VIMEO.COM started to kick in with HD streaming, I jumped all over it and by 2007, almost all the other video start up sites were drifting off like Myspace requests. I still kept my Youtube account and even uploaded to it but never did any promotion.

After about 2 years of running both Youtube and Vimeo, and promoting the Vimeo only, I noticed that steadily and without any attempt by me that the Youtube videos would consistently outperform all other video platforms in terms of views, length of watching and worldwide demographics. Once Google offered ad sharing and money became a part of the equation, and especially when I started getting checks (and 1099’s), Youtube became my emphasis for videos online.

Now I have surpassed 1,000,000+ combined views for all my videos on just the Sonnyboo account. That doesn’t even include the 100,000+ from other accounts I run. I want to thank every single actor and crew member who has ever helped me make these movies big and small. I could not have reached this milestone without a lot of very generous and talented people that make me look good.

So many tears I was wasting, oh oh

Now I can see you, be you
How can I ever misplace you
How I want you”
– Beatles
