These Framelines Interactive Tutorial started as a fluke. I had raw footage and just threw it out there. Now we’re doing several more for the next year. The original project started from raw footage of what became the basis of FRAMELINES, shot in 2007. I went and shot a new GREENSCREEN intro for this to make it all official and formal. As happens when you have a feature film out in the world, you sometimes find out about things it is doing, even when that is a copyright violation. HORRORS OF WAR sometimes called NAZI ZOMBIES, and ZOMBIES OF WAR has been added to a 4 movie Blu Ray set in Germany. Of course, I haven’t seen so much as a nickel come in from all the sales since 2007, so in 9 years and everything the movie has achieved, the creators get none of it. That’s a reality of your first feature film in most cases.

I had a friend in Europe get the disc and fire it up, thus proving beyond all doubt even though it was retitled, this was a movie I conceived of, co-wrote, co-directed, co-edited, and produced getting a new life in a land across the ocean, and not getting anything for it.

I can’t watch the movie still. It makes my stomach queasy to think about it.

Besides this coming week I find out this year’s Emmy nominations. That is exciting and terrifying. Is it my year? Am I relegated to perpetually be a bridesmaid and never a bride? I know not the answers.

“Overhead the albatross
Hangs motionless upon the air
And deep beneath the rolling waves
In labyrinths of coral caves
An echo of a distant time
Comes willowing across the sand
And everything is green and submarine
And no one called us to the land
And no one knows the where’s or why’s
Something stirs and something tries
Starts to climb toward the light”
– Pink Floyd
